the 2013 Prestonian Lecture
As we were seen –
The Press & Freemasonry
By V W Bro Dr Paul R Calderwood PGSwdB
Berkshire Masonic Centre, Mole Rd, Sindlesham RG41 5EA
on Tuesday 28th June at 6pm
V W Bro Dr Calderwood will describe the way that Freemasonry was portrayed in the national press in England and Wales during the twentieth-century. He will then explain how and, perhaps more importantly, why the public image of Freemasonry changed from that of a highly-respected elite organisation, at the centre of public life in 1900, to a position on the fringes in the 1990s, regarded by many with suspicion and disapproval.
